Fund Mental Healthcare is a fundraiser built to feel like a gallery: no membership, no subscription, no data harvesting. You buy a piece of art, and the artist's net proceeds go to 988.

Artists donate original work
Any artist can submit a piece. Every submission is reviewed by an administrator for eligibility, condition, and shipping viability. Approved works appear in the gallery with the artist credited.

Collectors buy at a listed price
Purchases work like a normal storefront — no account is required to check out. At checkout, the buyer sees the listed price plus applicable shipping and tax, and can choose whether shipping is paid separately or comes out of that artwork's proceeds.

Net proceeds are batched and transferred
Each sale's net amount is aggregated with others into an admin-approved donation batch and transferred to an approved recipient partner supporting the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Every batch is listed publicly with a permanent reference number.
Where the money goes
For every artwork we start from a single number: the listed price. From that number three things come out before anything is called "raised":
- Payment processing and applicable tax. These go to the payment processor and to tax authorities. They never touch this project's bank account.
- 2.5% platform maintenance. A fixed, non-negotiable slice used only to operate this site — hosting, transactional email, and payment infrastructure. Reported separately on the public ledger.
- Shipping, if the buyer chooses "shipping from the artwork's proceeds" instead of paying it separately.
What's left is the net proceeds — the number we count and report on the ledger.
A worked example
If the buyer pays shipping separately, the net rises accordingly. Exact processing and tax vary by location and provider.
Frequently asked
Do I need an account to buy?
No. Checkout works without an account. Signing in gives you saved artworks, order history, and the ability to follow artists — but nothing you need to complete a purchase.
Is my purchase tax-deductible?
Almost certainly not, and this site does not claim it is. You are buying an original artwork at its listed price; the net proceeds are a donation from the project, not from you. Consult a tax professional before treating any purchase as a personal donation.
How is shipping handled?
Artworks ship directly from the artist using a prepaid label. Small works over the project's free-shipping threshold ship with the cost deducted from proceeds by default. Larger or fragile works quote shipping at checkout, and the buyer chooses whether to pay it separately or have it come out of proceeds.
What if something arrives damaged?
Every shipment is insured. Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will begin the carrier claim on your behalf. Refund options depend on the artwork's condition and are handled case-by-case.
Who receives the transfers?
Transfers go to an approved recipient partner that supports the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Fund Mental Healthcare is an independent fundraising project — it is not operated by, partnered with, sponsored by, or endorsed by 988, SAMHSA, Vibrant Emotional Health, or the federal government.
